Get to know a little bit about Chiriqui, Panama

Chiriqui is a province in Panama. It is one of the most developed and populated provinces in the country. It has a population of about 469,000 people. Its capital city is David and it has an area of 7,898 square kilometers.



The province is home to many beautiful natural attractions such as volcanoes, waterfalls, rivers, hills and valleys. Chiriqui offers many opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and bird watching. There are many things to do in Chiriqui including visiting Boquete which is a great tourist destination or go see Volcan Baru which is one of the most active volcanoes in Panama. LOS QUETZALES TRAIL - one of the most popular hikes in Panama; and Cerro de la Muerte (Volcan Baru) - an active volcano with breathtaking views.

There are also many beaches to visit such as Boca Chica Beach, Playa Bonita Beach and Playa Negra Beach. The province also has some amazing national parks such as Cerro Hoya National Park which offers great views of the Pacific Ocean with its lush rainforest covering the slopes of the volcano.

The Chiriqui province is located in western Panama. It is the largest province and has the second most population. The province was named after Chiriqui Grande, which was one of the first indigenous tribes to inhabit this area.

It's located in the west central region of the country, bordering Costa Rica.

Most people live in Boquete, a town that is known for its coffee plantations and beautiful scenery. The Chiriquí Lagoon is one of the most popular places to visit. It's home to many species of birds, including herons and flamingos.

Chiriqui is home to many different types of flora and fauna. The most famous are the Chiriquí trees, which are used as an ornamental tree in many countries around the world because they grow so tall and straight with little maintenance required.
